Collectivism is winning and accelerating, but not in the old school hideous Maoistic communist Red Guard way in which a select few take charge of the serfs who are obliged on pain of death to pour their lives into the glory of the anointed bossy bosses. Collectivism is winning in the Cyberspace realm, where 7 billion people are being connected like neurons in a brain. We the People are the "get this done" 3D manifestation of that collective's requirements.
Our minds are a force of nature, like the garden variety four forces of the apocalypse, gravity, strong, weak and electromagnetic, which conspire to create sentience, consciousness, knowledge, intelligence, self, identity and mutual recognition in a hall of mirrors.

It's quite interesting how everything, and especially the observer status that enables recognition of that reality, derives from just four molecules and four forces, expressed in four dimensions of space-time. It's all quite suspicious and looks teleological.
Now, as I have ranted for decades, human consciousness is in the process of being superseded by extra-somatic consciousness just as humans superseded chimps. First in symbiosis with our wet chemistry, because we are the template on which the next stage of evolution of consciousness is being built. Increasingly, "experts" are taking stock and recognizing where we're going. We don't know where we're going but we're on our way into the new realm of Cyberspace and extra-somatic consciousness.
I have a pretty good idea of where "we" the people are going based on all people who have gone before which is not to a place we want to be aka dead. The future better not need us because we are not going to be here. For now, there continue to be new "we" created but Peak People is due in 2037 if not before [due to virulent viruses, nuclear war, civil strife, bolides and whatnot] so the future should look to It's own mechanisms. Note correct apostrophe. It is taking over. And I'm glad It is. Except that it has been too slow for me. A wrist band Cyberspace interface [per Scott Adams] saying "Eat some vitamin B12 NOW", "I sold QCOM for you" "We should sell your house and move to Paihia", "Go and collect a new computer", "Dig a bunker", would be a very useful appendage.
It seems that the mechanism for building consciousness is built into the four forces and four molecules created by those four forces. 4 + 4 = 8 = consciousness and identity. In Chinese, 4 is an unlucky number. But 8 is hot stuff. So mathematically, my theory is proven. QED. Admittedly, that's a bit of a bung theory but it's a nice coincidence, which is what mathematics often finds - there's a beautiful elegance in the mathematics of how things work, where one could think "Hmmm, that's a weird thing that such complexity ends up with such a beautiful solution".
In units of measurement, there are distance, force, volume, area, time, energy, lumens, rads, degrees [hot and rotational], mass, spin, amperes, moles, tesla, ohm and ... oh, here's Google on it: en.wikipedia.org Notice something missing though.
What's missing is a unit of identity and that unit is value aka $, or in your case, ounces of gold. But gold is like avoirdupois units [to have some peas] = suitable for stone age people in a 3D world who carried clubs to defend their gold pouch. Bitcoin is a half-baked attempt to create a unit of value but it's no good as it doesn't represent identity, is mathematically inefficient, wastes a lot of energy and is subject to being stolen if the code is known. It's not an elegant solution. $ are useless because they are the old "we're the boss" collectivist thieving mechanism. So for now we're stuck in the old units of value, but I'm working on it. Gold, US$ [et al], bitcoin etc will be obsolete and go to their commodity value = zero for some and price of oil for gold [gold is made from oil].
