They must diversify into bandwidth and content. MORE pc features is n NOT the right way to go at this point in time. Look at Microsoft's but of Hotmail. Comcast. Web TV etc. AND rumored buy into TCI. >>>5. One critical problem is that Intel is forced towards "open" standards in whatever it does whereas MSFT rarely is in such situations.<<< This will hurt Intel until they decide that the war is against MSFT. The O/S is MSFT's magic wand or golden goose. >>>6. Remember though that MSFT has a $28B liability for employee stock options - anyone know the figure for Intel?<<< YES that is also another way to get back at MSFT. Bring the stock price down. BUT A DIRECT ATTACK ON MSFT's O/S IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST. THERE IS NO SECOND CHANCE AFTER MERCED!
