I have no problem with voter ID. But it has to be free and the acquiring can't be onerous. For example, the local DMV office is not sufficient. They are often located in places where you need a car to get there. Proof of identity shouldn't require documents that some people may not have.

But that problem cannot be solved with voter ID. When it is done, one or more is voted by absentee ballot. And absentee voter fraud, while small, occurs a whole lot more often than in person voter fraud. Which is the only type that voter ID can catch.
