Man Tips Waiter $750 So He Can Fly His GF And Baby Home For Christmas

A Texas gentleman tipped his waiter $750 dollars so that he could fly himself and his pregnant girlfriend home to Ireland for Christmas.

Twenty-two-year-old Ben Millar was serving customers one evening at a restaurant in Houston, when he struck up a conversation with a diner about the band U2.

The customer told Millar that he was recently in Ireland to the see band perform. Millar, a native of Belfast, Ireland, told the customer that he wished he could “go back there for a weekend and visit my family,” the Telegraph reports.

Millar has a 21-year-old girlfriend, Taryn Keith, who is currently eight months pregnant and expecting to deliver their child any minute. The Belfast native told the customer that he has been planning a trip back to Ireland once their child is born.

Millar left the customer to finish his meal, and when he returned to pick up the check he found an early Christmas present — a $750 dollar tip. Written on the receipt next to the incredibly generous offering was a note that read: “Hopefully, this can get you back to Ireland for the holidays.” When Millar looked for the customer to thank him, the man was nowhere to be found.

Taryn’s due date is Jan. 20. She says the tip was a blessing and that it could not have happened “to a better guy.”

“He’s pretty stressed right now with money and the baby coming, so this just made his whole year. It’s good to know that there are kind people in the world,” Taryn concluded.
