Let's get this straight. I've been hearing for years the right wing say that we can't trust scientists because they do what they do to get grants. Or they do what they do for money. That is absolutely the most preposterous idea imaginable. It is something they pulled right out of their ass.

They don't even have their claim thought out very well from a logical point of view. They generally talk and reference to American scientists getting grants. But they generally don't extend it to the fact that it is all of the scientists in the world. E.g Virtually all the atmospheric scientists in the world believe in anthropogenic global warming. All scientists believe in evolution.

So for their right-wing talking point to be correct, would mean that all of the top scientists in the world are being paid of. That is just plain nuts. I doubt we could have gotten a rocket to the moon if that were the case.

Most of the right wing's talking points are based on made up stuff like that myth.
