11/25/16 Contest update
As expected, President Obama issued his final pardon to a National Thanksgiving Turkey. But who will pardon the turkeys who predicted the stock market would crash if Trump won? I know, I know, we still have four years to go.
Meanwhile, at Friday’s close, the Contest median was down -20.45% YTD (vs. down -21.00% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was down -15.86% YTD (vs. down -15.87% YTD a week ago), while the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was down -5.45% YTD (vs. down -6.15% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) was up 7.82% YTD (vs. up 6.27% YTD a week ago).
JBOG’s portfolio, up 30.23% YTD, held on to the Contest lead, with DNAJOE’s portfolio, up 27.28% YTD, in second place and STEVEL’s portfolio, up 20.88% YTD, in third place.
At Friday’s close, 9 of the 58 Contest portfolios were now in the green, with 22 portfolios beating the NBI and 11 still beating the SPSIBI. The 223 Contest stock picks had an average YTD loss of -13.38% and a median YTD loss of -25.71%, with 63 of the 223 Contest portfolio stocks up for the year.
