Middle class is just fine and improving day by day. <it may be that the concept / substance / implementation of middle class is an one-off aberration under conditions of central bank managed monetary domain>

But the idea of middle class requires a broader view than that of the tiny number of people in Peoria. Back in the day, a billion people in China another billion in India and Pakistan and a third billion hither and yon in Africa, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Russia were living lives of borderline poverty, cut off from the economic powerhouses of USA and Europe. Now Made in China, manufactured in Vietnam, designed in South Korea and around the world where 7 billion people compete have meant unskilled uneducated men in Peoria and Pittsburgh don't have captive steel mills powered by convenient SpindleTop oil wells with vast car assembly lines just up the road.

Back in the day, the people of Peoria were supersonic rich compared with others. Now it's a competitive world and that's great because the average for 7 billion is wayyyyy higher than for the average 3 billion just a few decades ago and vastly higher than for 1 billion not much more than a century ago.

Whiny Americans need to take a more Christian view of the world. I far prefer to buy something from a bloke in Beijing who needs the money more than a lazy angry unionist in USA.

The other big problem is the wastrel bludger opm spendthrift stupidity of the "free" world governments who have serfs as citizens in feudal fascism - individuals can own companies, but the government milks them and the workers extorquerationately - 33% tax on corporate profits, 33% tax on the money paid to workers, 15% GST when the worker spends their little bit of money, plus duties, imposts, fees, permits, strictures, regulations, rules, laws, standards and a thousand other barriers and confiscations when doing anything. Which is not to say the slaves of China are more free - they just work for less money. Government wastrels take well over half the money then pour it down the drain while murdering people in Iraq, Ukraine, Libya, Yemen, everywhere.

Middle class is middle of the normal distribution curve which is a function of the cognitive functions of the populations. The level of the middle of the curve is constantly rising and fast = Flynn Effect and selective breeding which has been going on for 100,000 years [and always before that]. Eugenics is alive and well and going at supersonic speed with 7 billion people now in the game. Eugenics became unfashionable when governments took over but works just fine with women in charge of who gets to breed, and Darwin Awards run by men to self-select out. It's harsh, relentless, merciless, fast, and inevitable.

Gung Ho,
Mqurice
