the experiment, who i named "the royal coconut in the big valley" just did her second (first was last year, in nutcracker) to-the-public performance at the hong kong city hall theatre backed by the Tapiola Sinfonietta from Finland. the coconut first-time absolutely solo-performed for ~ an hour being the baby elephant in the "babar the elephant" about a baby elephant whose mama was killed by hunters, adopted and living in the big city, and eventually returned to her tribe and crowned the queen. the coconut had a super time, practiced 4 times on own, rehearsed 2 times, performed her dance routine as well as monologue well, with wide range of emotions coming through very natural, kept in good step w/ the music and to wild applause at finish. she really does love animals, brought the story alive. the adults were whoa-ed, and the kids paid attention. during the post-performance dinner the coconut got invite from descendant of german romantic period composer to exhibit her art during coming top-rank summer music festival in europe
