I wish there was a way to predict when and where. I've heard about planetary alignments, full/new moon, and solar activity, but it all typically makes sense in hindsight. I've heard 1000's of false predictions.

I focus on solar events and full/new moons. Thus, I'd highlight Dec 12 +/- 2 days (uptick in solar activity preceding a full moon). Also, Dec 22 +/- 1 day (expected very active solar event).
