Slot 1 is real and a success - the 6x86MX is not.

I am not going to deny that 6x86MX has problems. They have a lot to do with less than cooperating manufacturing partner.

But the fact that P-II sold more chips, as many chip as K6, doesn't explain the superiority of Slot 1 design. With Intel's position in the marketplace, even a complete nonsence as the dancing engineers, AGP and MMX sell.

It's like if my electric utility company started selling 45 Hz AC power for 10% extra and stopped selling 50 Hz. People would still buy it. It wouldn't prove superiority of one over the other.
