I used to work a tasting room on the weekends just for fun- since I knew the owner and I got paid in wine. Now the law has changed- and you can't do that any more because of legal issues. But people used to ask me all the time, "What wine should I buy?" or "What wine should I like?"- I always said, "Buy what you like. Buy what tastes good to you. Don't let anyone shame you into buying wine you don't enjoy." I've met a few idiots in tasting rooms who try to bully customers into submission- though most people who work in them are quite nice, and just love wine, and want to share their passion. I worked in the tasting room because wine is a passion of mine.
