the tests have changed.. as the sec has been cracking down on insider trading, etc.. so the rules and customs have to adapt with the times.. as the rules get enforced it is only fair to test the brokers on it.. btw.. i too read the ARCO manual, as my understanding of bonds was feeble, at best..had a cab customer... institutional bond trader bust my horns over repo's and that is streetese for repurchases.. forced against bond short sellers{in a nutshell} money never sleeps.. this computer stuff is wild.. have a good weekend.. ps... IMO- i think that otc bb's are purely spec plays.. as are thinly traded low volume stock options.mostly highly illiquid and wasting assets.. But if you are in the 50%+tax bracket and have taken some gains, the govt gives you a nice break on losses..
