No I would not say this is logical because in the next chapter it states this:
For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods, 2Kings 17:7 When you read the passages its clear that God is testifying against Israel and against Judah, a nation that has been divided. The word Jew was attributed to those of Judah.

I, with Abraham am looking for the city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Read Hebrews chapter 11( the faith chapter). All these people died in faith having never received the promise. Listen to what the scriptures say: But now they desire a better country, that is a heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for He hath prepared for them a city. It's clear these people of faith are looking for something the world cannot offer. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son. Now consider, the scriptures do not lie, did we not just see that Abraham offered up his only begotten son Isaac? How could this be when his first born sons name was Ishmael? Look at Moses and ask yourself , did he ever enter the promised land that God had promised? Many are quick to say no because of his sin. It's true that he sinned but would God really keep him out of the real promised land? I think not, and by the way when Jesus was on the mount of tranfiguration who appeared before him, was it not Moses and Elijah? Seems to me that mount was inside of the borders of Israel. (just something to think about). We are talking about the heavenly Jerusalem which comes from above.
The bottom line is, I really do not believe that God has forsaken the physical land of Israel but is, and will continue to do great things there. However there won't be anyone boasting in the flesh when He's done. I do also pray that when the nations come against Israel in the battle of Armageddon that America will not be counted as one of her foes.

From the time I truly accepted Jesus, and God accepted me by Christ's merit I have felt like I am part of the seed of Abraham. I realize that I'm grafted in but almost feel like Jacob stealing the birthright from Esau because he despised it.
