The cave is where the conservatives live. It is the liberals who live outside the cave. The 60's was about living outside the cave. When Plato was talking about the cave, he was talking about people who believe in myths that have no basis in reality. He was a talking about people that cling to old-fashioned ideas, norms, morays and traditions. The world outside the cave is the existential world. And a world not revisited by humans after the destruction of ancient Greece, until about the time Darwin released his "On the Origin of Species in 1859". And in that sense one could consider the ancient Greeks the first existentialists. Although some in Asia figured it out about that time e.g. Buddha. Zen is Asia's existentialism. <<you like to believe horse shit. Come out of the cave.
