You're absolutely right. Arctic warmth displaces the cold air into the midlatitudes. So when it was +36F anomaly in the Arctic, it was -50F anomaly in Siberia. But they'll cherry pick. Did you know an actual temperature of -36F and perpetual darkness means penguins and polar bears will be floating on ice floes among water and sunlight in the Arctic? Who knew?
