Update from betterchips.com.................. The delay of the Holiday Season held me up with doing other things, but now I'm back. I'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year and hope that everything is what it should be in 1998. Let me start out today by talking about what AMD has done over the past month. AMD has released the K6-266 chips, they did so about 4-5 weeks ago. These chips probably won't be available for end-user use until mid-late January because most of the large OEM's have been buying them for their machines. I know some of you have been writing me saying that they can buy K6-266 machines in the stores, but can't find the chips, and this is the reason. AMD will be releasing the K6-300 3D in another 2-3 months, these chips will be a very serious threat to the Intel P-II series because primary benchmarks place them 30% faster than the P-II equivilant. The next few weeks will be very interesting waters for the computer industry, stay tuned for more information on the AMD front. I will make reviews atleast every other day. betterchips.com ...Dave
