Most people that haven't had a gun before select 38,380, 9mm , but then also get a 22 for cheaper practice, varmint etc, then if they get Concealed Carry weapon maybe one for light clothes and one for winter. Then there is the shotgun and rifle. One large cal rifle and one 22 for the same reasons mentioned regarding the pistol.
