>>>1)But congress is not going to do their job. Because many of them have to do what they're campaign financers, mostly large corporations and the very rich, tell them to do. There's no way to force them to do anything otherwise.<<<

I have a tendency to agree that congress has been failing to do its job adequately and for the reason you gave. I disagree that there is no way to force them to do anything otherwise.

This is a fundamental confusion on your part. Congress is made up of individuals who are held in trust by the oaths of office they take, which require them to serve us. If you, I, and the American people fail to hold them to that oath it is a simple failure on our parts. However, we have every right and ability to force them to perform their duties when we are up to it. It is tantamount to throwing in the towel on our government to assert otherwise.

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

Then you seem to suggest a better way of governing is to create many unmanageable and out of control government agencies who are prone to corruption, self serving agendas, and insidious practices. This is ludicrous.

>>>2) When you say government, I have this feeling that you have the idea that it is some monstrous organization that exists to hurt people. Government, is nothing more than our democracy at work. We have direct control over our government.<<<

Your feelings aside, I have said or thought no such thing. I understand the purpose of government is to benefit society and its individuals and is based on the notion and practice of government by the people, for the people, and of the people. We have a constitution, of which the sole purpose is to restrict government and to protect us from harm or government overreach.

>>>Government, is nothing more than our democracy at work. We have direct control over our government.<<<

You have stated that congress is not under our control and that it is because of corruption. So, you are contradicting yourself. Government working effectively to protect our freedoms is a result of our involvement and the power of the people. It is our right to dissolve any government or any part of government that violates that purpose.

>>>What we do not have direct control over, is our corporations and the Republican Party wants to turn everything over to the corporations and they will rape us.<<<

Have not heard that from any Repub ... so, you are making it up.

>>>Anyone who thinks corporations are going to treat us better than government, that we elect, is foolish. <<<

I have never heard any sane person say they think that ... so, you are making it up.
