TJ the signs are all there. The exporting model is dead. To keep the economy going China is doing heavy project financing the PBOC has burned $940 billion of foreign exchange reserves since mid-2014.

This is a bit of citizens moving capital abroad but mostly EXIMBANK and China Development Bank financing Chinese companies.

“They’re trying desperately to get foreign capital into the country,” said Chris Balding, associate professor of economics at Peking University’s HSBC Business School. “Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s the appetite.”

HK is at risk. If US sides with Taiwan, mainland will grab HK in retaliation.

Similar as Cuba-Berlin during the missile crisis of 1962. HAd Kennedy taken Cuba, the Russians would have taken Berlin.
