I don't think that point can be emphasized enough.

Also, IMHO the flexibility you get by being able to choose your size, features (fans, audio, USB), internal/external drive slots, and accessibility can't be beat. Commercial box-makers -- the Dell's, HP's, Lenovo's, etc of the world -- put too much emphasis on how the machine looks, and that almost always results in a case that's difficult to work in.
