My response about U.S. government contracting was meant to be impressionistic; I subsequently clarified that I don't have any hard info one way or another, just my feelings based on what I have seen in my agency. Tomorrow I have to take a finance program written for Windows 3.1 and try to make it work on a Windows 95 machine. Like virtually every custom piece of software we have received from independent vendors, it is buggy as hell and not versatile or scalable. Maybe I was transferring some of that pent-up resentment to ZITL. On the other hand, like you said ZITL has to produce real news and results to convince the longs to stay and the shorts to back off. I'm pleased to see a dedicated, realistic long point of view on this thread again. Good luck.
