What the hell does be socially conservative if you support gay rights? One of the hallmark ideologies. What makes you socially conservative? No problem with the spending as you say - BUT they are NOT being fiscally conservative. You have to believe in the ideas of being a fiscal conservative when the republicans spend like crazy as well as when the democrats spend like crazy.
