because I do not hate gays or want to see them discriminated against does not mean I condone that lifestyle...its not for me but I don't believe in meddling in nor judging the affairs of others...also a conservative viewpoint.

I find that position reasonable and appropriate (not that I think you care what I think).

I don't think it needs to be clarified....I suppose it depends on how you define socially conservative.

I guess that's what I was looking for. What about social conservatives who would and do meddle to the point of depriving others of their rights? And especially those who do so under the flag of religious freedom, who seem to think that their own religious freedom is compromised when other people are not forced to submit to the former's religious proscriptions? Is that conservatism? Religious freedom? I think it is neither.
