After President Reagan served in office, the Democrats active in Northern Virginia Democrats gerrymandered
North Virginia.

Part of Arlington County for election purposes was pushed in to Fairfax County to provide safe seats in the Virginia General Assembly for several sitting current members..

Fairfax County Republicans then lost the Chairmanship of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.

What was not lost was the 10th Congressional and 8th Congressional District at the National level.
Broyhill of Arlington passed the seat onto a Republican------Congressman Frank Wolf.

Again the lines were redrawn pushing some of the liberal Dems into the conservative portions
of Northern Virginia.

Also, The 10th District held by Congressman Frank Wolf was expanded West and South and while the 8th Congressional District was expanded into the liberal areas of Northern Virginia.

Now to Barbara Comstock, this is my analysis. Barbara built her strength serving first in the Virginia
General Assembly and gained name recognition--------and was well known and liked in the larger
community. Her opponent a Democrat from McLean criticized her in her first campaign and win for "not having a real job" just before the general election .

That was a major mistake for her opponent a man from McLean, Va.

We women laughed. What Barbara Campbell had done is exactly what we had all done in various ways.

She raised her children during the Reagan years and got her 'LAW DEGREE" and worked for Wolf. As well as working in major ways in Northern Virginia plus more..

That was of course a huge blunder on the part of her Male opponent in her first campaign. for Congress. o.

Now by the time the Presidential Election came Barbara was well known and respected and liked for her
work in the House of Rep. with only 1 term.

Given the way that Tim Kaine became Hillary's VP; it appeared that Hillary would carry Virginia. Not so. Hillary was not liked by Virginia Women.

Back to Barbara Comstock------to maintain her position in the House of Representatives ----she ran
a campaign that reached out to all the people in the district-------just as Congressman Frank Wolf
had done.

Distancing herself from our President Elect Trump was likely a wise decision to retain her Congressional
Seat. If she had supported Trump very openly, there was perhaps the possibility in Va. that she may have
lost .

Later as I did research on the net------I began to understand that her opponent wanted to align her with
Donald Trump hoping to win the General Election.

This was similar to sitting Congressmen and Women in other states giving some space between themselves and Candidate Trump.

Now that is my best guess.
