Is Putin a murderous thug? I don't know that Putin is a murderous thug. He may be or not. That has nothing to do with his being a strong leader who has pushed himself into the forefront of the world. I believe that is all President Elect Trump said.
I do not see how anyone can say that Putin is not a strong leader. He doesn't need to push himself to the world forefront, the Democrats keep him there by blaming their every loss on him daily. Now European leftist are starting to blame him for their defeats.
One question I have. To whom is he a murderous thug? His people in his country love him. Among the Russian people he has a 90% approval rating. And I don't think it is because he has killed off all his detractors.
I listened to his spokesperson explain that Putin puts his country first and that is why the people love him.
There seems to be a big swing toward nationalism throughout the world. People are tired of the trend toward globalism we have seen over the last decade. Hence we have Putin, Brexit and Donald Trump. European countries are moving in the same direction. This direction is out of the EU and halting immigration from the Middle East which they feel is destroying their countries identity.
