Dillon Read issued Company Report Posted: January 2, 1998 On September 30, 1997 Dillon Read analyst Robert Maclellan issued a 2 page Company Report on Ascend Communications, Inc. Report highlights: "A BUY rating was reaffirmed as the company preannounced its third quarter sales and EPS results. The company expects EPS of $0.18-$0.20 vs. estimated $0.29. The shortfall in the quarter was due to the weakness in Europe, weakness in PC demand in Japan, and 56K software problems. The price target was in $45-$50 range." Hal
