He just claimed, that "The Clinton Foundation has done many good things!", when I tried - in vain - to point out, that for me, the choice of Trump vs Clinton would just be a pick of the least evil of the 2 picks, that I'd not consider Trump per se the ideal pick, but that the other choice was just a criminal and impossible by all means. I even tried to placate him by agreeing, that with like 320 million (legal) citizens, that this Nation could only come up with those 2 were just unbelievable!
Now, the media coverage of the 2 candidates, their low and their high sides - if any - was even more tilted than in the US - if possible. The Clinton bad news never made it to the EU media. That said, those with an interest could always access other sources than the locals and official media, and since my friend has a perfect command of English among the other 4-5 languages of his, that were not a valid point.
He just preferred to prevail on his position, Trump is evil while "stepping on all my ideals and values", so Clinton must be the better pick. And anybody not on my side belong in the Trump evil camp.
We as I said never discussed politics before. I would now guess his position being quite 'liberal', just based on his reaction. But I don't know. Very sad, though, 70 years friends, man!!!
