You don't think it's because the Republicans have been racists?

Well then explain to me how come Latinos and Asians all vote over 70% Democratic as well?

I guess you never figured out, that the reason all of the minorities vote primarily Democratic is that the Republican Party has been playing the race card in spades since the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Are you familiar with Lee Atwood's Southern strategy? After the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which every liberal voted for and almost every conservative voted against, the Dixiecrat's (conservatives) in the South changed to the Republican Party, because the dirty little secret was the Republican Party would NOT enforce to Civil Rights Act any more than they had to.

That was not lost on the African American.

And the rest of the story is that when the South brought all of the Republicans down there, they busted the unions, destroyed the social safety nets and now the south is the poorest part of the country with the worst education, lowest income and the most people on welfare.
