The American Revolution and the Second Amendment... There's a very good reason the 2nd Amendment is second and not down on the list as last or next to last... Our forefathers didn't write the 2nd Amendment because the rabbits and deer were coming... Back in the day, in Boston, the Governor of Boston (they had a Governor and not a Mayor) issued a proclamation that all private citizens must surrender their guns and firearms immediately... the town folk refused... the Governor then ordered the militia to enter the city and enter the homes and confiscate the weapons... the following morning, the town folk stood at the outskirts of the city with fully loaded weapons in hand and greeted the militia as it approached the outskirts of Boston... there was a standoff... Then, the firing began, and after several hours there were 74 dead citizens and militia... the militia retreated... That afternoon, the Governor issued a proclamation that anyone who surrenders their arms will be given amnesty and he also ordered the immediate arrest of the three ringleaders who had been responsible for leading the civil disobedience... the names were John Adams, Paul Revere, and John Hancock... This was the start of the American Revolution... GZ
