Yeah, it was another birthday - thanks for remembering. They just keep coming.

I saw Manchester By The Sea. I give it two thumbs up. It's somber to say the least as tragedies are painstakingly exposed. The movie jumps from the present to the past laying out the story that leads to a reluctant uncle becoming the guardian of his nephew.

For me the often angry and sarcastic banter between the uncle (Casey Affleck) and his 16 year old nephew is so real and funny that I think it almost stole the movie. At one point the theater erupted in laughter despite the harrowing story that was unfolding. The young actor that plays the nephew was outstanding. Having raised a couple of these particular beasts (teenage boys) I gotta give props to the movie for it's realistic portrayal of a teenage boy and his many moods and complexities.
