There has always been fake news and propaganda. That is why it is important for a person to educate themselves, inform themselves.the best place to find real news, is to identify the people and places that are known for telling the truth and are informed. We generally know who they are if a person wants to seek and find them. E.g do not believe anything in the National Enquirer. That is fake news.

But a free press is the most important thing we can ever have besides a democracy. Sure it can be irritating and both systems are flawed, but to start cracking down on the free press is the worst thing a person can wish for.

Trump is going to crack down on the press, because he does not like what they say about him. and it will impede his desire to control. But all tyrants do that.

Think about it, there is not one liberal dictator in the world. Not one, they are all conservative, one way or another. Dictators hate liberals and a free press more than anything else. Because those two entities will tell the people the truth and they do not want people to hear the truth.
