BTW, I just scanned without reading thoroly Greenspans's deflation comments (they're printing now)- but they appear to be seminal (another cliche) in his thinking.

The encouraging thing is that he is aware of the pitfalls. The last time the world faced deflation (in 29-30), the fed TIGHTENED.

I'm long NOB and HIB in my longterm portfolio. Very hard to say how this will play out short and long term for bank stocks.
