Reagan was a big fan of Rand. Reagan ushered in the era of kill workers rights, attack unions, give tax cuts to the wealthy. Reagan was a big hater of govt social programs, but ironically Ayn Rand denounced Reagan in 1981 when she realized he was siding with the "moral majority". She had one thing right, that religion and govt should not commingle. But it was too late, So Reagan also ushered in the era of "the american taliban", aka the "moral majority", which in fact stood for the opposite, immorality. The original US govt was founded on separation of church and state, but Reagan let the religious kooks into the kitchen
Alan Greenspan was also a fan of Rand. He believed that capitalism could regulate itself. No govt oversight needed, he presided over the dot com crash and all the other unfettered unregulated garbage such as Enron
And now we have Paul Ryan, who sleeps with Ayn Rand's book under his pillow at night, and just can't wait to stick it to all the poor people and give billionaires a huge tax cut
>>Perhaps you just read the title and wrote it off unexamined
nope, incorrect
BTW, I am not totally anti religion, in fact I am not an atheist, but I do think religion and politics should be kept absolutely separate, that is the problem with muslim societies, religion rules their politics. And despite what some American extremists say, this country was not based or founded on any religion... you can look it up, lol |
