Holly I know how strongly you feel about smoking, and I think it is definitely your choice to smoke. However, I applaud the new bar/restaurant legislation because I never wanted to smoke but as a waitress, and cocktail waitress was forced to. I don't think that is fair. I should have been able to have the flexible hours, that are available to food servers, without being emersed in smoke. I came home reeking. My hair, my clothes, but much more important to me, my lungs, were all bathed in a soup of smoke. Now if cigar lounges are created, especially for the purpose of smoking, that is a different case. The purpose of the establishment will be to smoke, great, no one who doesn't want to be around smoke need enter. But the same cannot be said for restaurants. I like my food sans smoke, and the "non-smoking area" never worked. Smoke really doesn't respect boundaries |
