Calling it a "lie" is way over-reaching.

As you clearly are aware, the brochure is around. And the website is still on the Internet referring to him as "Kenyan Born."

The question is whether this ONE person questionably "taking responsibility" is credible. It is not.

1. It is unimaginable that a literary agent would have drafted such language and that the client would not have been asked to confirm its accuracy. Just wouldn't happen. At least, it is unimaginable that a qualified lawyer with political ambition would allow it to happen.

2. The situation existed for a full 15 years before being mysteriously changed weeks before he announced his run for office. It it inconceivable that during this period he did not become aware of this "incorrect" information floating around.

3. The entire story hinges on one person's claim under panic circumstances which simply is not credible.

It is far more likely that he never envisioned running for the presidency and simply used that phrase to his advantage.

As to Snopes, they are discredited as a resource by thoughtful persons, just as is Politifact and Glenn Kessler and the rest. They are far too biased to be considered credible. And certainly, Obama's history of lying and misrepresentation disqualifies him from credibility on any significant issue.

If you want to call it a disagreement, fine. But calling it a lie is really itself a lie.
