Those liberals are in a minority and I sure do not agree with them.

I think the west could learn a lot from Asian culture. "Thinking" is a big part of their culture and it serves them well. They understand cold what learning is about.

Contrast Asian spirituality with the Western spirituality. The preponderance of Asian spirituality talks about the path to enlightenment and the hard work it takes to achieve that.

In Western spirituality they give you a list of things to obey e.g. the 10 Commandments and actually put forth a rather anti-intellectual philosophy. For centuries thinkers in the west were tortured and killed.

So today, when the world realizes the importance of education, the Asian culture has all the tools to take advantage of that. The Asians are not afraid of education and embrace it. And they do not have to unlearn simplistic dogma.

But the right wing evangelicals are terrified of education and do everything they can to control it and renounce it.

Consequently Asia is moving past the West in leaps and bounds. Last I heard 50% of the UC

Berkeley freshman were Asian and it is the #1 destination that all Asians aim for.

<<And because of that, liberals think we Asians should be judged on a higher standard than other races.
