Yes. Putin has the old Russian/Tsarist philosophy, (adopted by the commies), that what once belonged to Russia is still Russian. No one was going to war over Crimea or Ukraine at that time. Heck, the far right wing nationalists in Russia are pushing to get Alaska back. By force if necessary. How funny/scary is that? Remember Trump said he would not defend the Baltic states until he checked to see if they were paying enough for NATO defense and Ukraine is not a NATO member. Now could he have negotiated them out by now?? Maybe, but I doubt it. Let's see if he negotiates Russsia withdrawing using current/future sanctions. TWT.
