I support protecting Medicare and Social Security. Ultimately, that means a transition toward a different funding arrangement and taking into consideration that since each of these programs was envisioned, the average lifespan has increased radically. IN the case of Medicare to the extent we can put its operation in private hands we should try to do so. Otherwise the program will die. You can't just keep screwing providers or it will end up like medicaid.
