I want to recommend a book I have come to feel is the most important book I have ever read. Well, after the Republic by Plato. "The Axe Makers Gift" by James Burke and Robert Ornstein. Those two, a scientific historian and a world famous experimental phychologist take one back millions of years and bring them forward to today, showing how we evolved intellectually. You will learn how the ancient Greeks got so smart. It is a must read as it provides context for everything you know. For many people it will greatly increase their understanding of the human species.
