I know smokers don't like to hear this kind of stuff, so smokers, skip this post. I have had the interesting experience of being able to see bits of lung tissue from smokers and non-smokers. Indeed, I have seen even preserved whole lungs. While non-smokers living in urban areas do not have the pink rosy lungs they should have their lungs are not lined with tar, their lungs are not shrivelled. Ugh. Some things individuals need help with, although the number of instances of that should be limited. I think the public health is one instance. And while I won't argue with Janice over this, based on studies of children and spouses of smokers, second hand smoke is a danger.
