Solomon is another favorite, along with half a dozen others who are constantly quoted to "prove" that there is no consensus. I was having lunch with a few people last year, one of whom cited Richard Lindzen as proof of the alleged lack of consensus. "He is at MIT! he said, as if that proved the merits of his opinion. "Well, what about everyone else at MIT?" I asked. "As long as we're keeping score, it is probably about 20-1. Or more." In any case, Lindzen at least heavily qualifies his statements when he is not solely in the company of Deniers and is pressed by other scientists about what he is really saying. Others, like Solomon or the really audacious his Lordship the Viscount Christopher Monckton, don't even do that--they just spout nonsense like they are on a SI thread.
