Scotsman, Microsoft doesn't have any equipment per se. They have an operating system which they have been developing for about last 10 years -- speaking here of NT and not Windows -- and it's recently been a success in small networks as hardware performance from Intel and others have made it practical, finally. Moreover, corporations have barely started putting their toes in the water in terms of software investments for NT. Let's not confuse Windows with NT and don't forget, there will soon be a wealth of software for Java-based systems up to and including full-featured office-packs. So the current situation, really, is that Microsoft is trying to break into the server space and Sun is trying to break into the personal business appliance space which Microsoft does own. Remember, NT and Windows are not the same thing.
