From a political tactical point of view that is a terrible idea. We lost in 2000 because Nader ran and too many liberals voted for him. What did anyone gain from votes for him? We lost in 2016 because Stein ran and too many liberals voted for her. What did anyone gain from those votes?

We liberals need to stick together. The Democratic Party is the perfect party for us. Stein had no message more sophisticated than the message put forth by Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders. The Green party presents nothing better or more sophisticated than can be found in the liberal wing of the Democratic Party.

The Republicans vote and walk in goose lockstep. So it is crazy for liberals to divide up their army because it makes it possible for the Republicans to run over us. When you vote Democrat or Republican, you are actually voting for an army, not the person.

If Jill Stein had been a true patriot and had an ounce of wisdom, she would've noticed the threat that Trump presented to this country and she would've fought like hell to get Hillary elected.

Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren hate everything about Hillary and her wing of the party, but they fought like hell to get her elected because they live in the world of reality and knew the threat Trump posed.

It may be true that you can't fool all the people all the time, but you can fool enough of them to rule a large country.

but still at least my vote shows up in the overall popular vote.

I understand your message. Only saying that, when one's vote doesn't count wrt to winning the election, there are various messages you can send, yours being just one. For example, one could vote for the green or the libertarian to add to their heft so that might influence others to sign on or help them get on ballots more easily. Or for Mickey Mouse. There's a message in that, too. Whatever makes you feel better.
