It wasn't just Bernie. The Comey idiocy was deplorable, and probably cost Hillary the election. It was also a tactical error to ignore the "blue" states- there were union leaders in several states trying to get materials and they could not get them, because the team hadn't spent the money to have materials available, because the campaign didn't think they were needed (and they probably would not have been needed absent the Comey garbage). If the election and been held closer to the "grab 'em by the pussy" stuff, Hillary would have won- there was a real struggle to normalize that crap.

So there were several things that could have totally changed the outcome of this past election. I'm hoping the right ignores that, oversteps, and makes it easy for the left to recoup some territory at the midterms. I also hope Obama does do the grooming of the next generation, and I hope he keeps baiting Trump- because Trump's responses are ridiculous, and nothing kills a politician faster than being ridiculous. You can be an autocrat and take over a democracy, but I don't think you can be a ridiculous autocrat and do that. Time will tell. I think Trump's policies merely hurting his own voters won't be enough- it will need to be coupled with ridiculousness (and possibly scandal, although Trump seems to be normalizing scandal. Not sure that's a good thing.)
