It can really be problem, but it is also an organizing force at times. The conformity of the fifties was singular. There was one way to operate and then there were outliers. It was, indeed, an organizing force. It is still an organizing force, but there is not a singular culture. We have organized warring tribes. The plus is that more people find a comfortable home. The minus is, well, war.
