Thank you for not shirking your responsibility, I like that...

Several other points not yet mentioned include:

Iridium has a tolerance for failure of approx. 4 satellites, I believe they lost 2 already. G* has provided for a launch failure rate 3-times the current rate and would still have a fully functional Global Telecomunications System.

Further the total cost of G* is less then half of I. This would mean less Depreciation and Amortization for each shareholder to have to eat and as you state I* has to absorb the Amort + Depr. in 5 years vs G*'s 7 years.

As Dan L. concludes I* will be a homerun, and I think it will do well too, as I am an I* shareholder, BUT I also believe that for each Homerun for Iridium, G* will hit a Grand Slam and that's why I own more G*.
