I'm very aware that the Democratic Party is a coalition of several tribes. But I think you will find that the Democratic Party as a whole is ready to move left. Republicans baffle me.

The primary difference between liberals and conservatives is simply how they were raised. I imagine a young child being raised in a very conservative evangelical household in Tennessee. That child is going to have no awareness of what a liberal is or liberal ideas. All that child is going to know is what he's heard his entire life and that will become his reality and his internal intellectual context.

That is why keep trying to find a way to communicate with them. I think where I and other liberals fail is the point that Plato made that we simply make them defensive. Although I have yet to find the remedy for thatl?-lo

I spent my entire life trying to figure out Republicans, and what I've become convinced of is that by and large the only difference between liberals and conservatives and everything in between has to do with early childhood indoctrination.

It has nothing to do with intellect and everything to do with learning.

The vast majority the time if you know what the parents believe, you'll know basically what the children believe. Seems to me to work like imprinting does in birds.

But the nation was ready for Bernie, is still ready for Bernie and he and Elizabeth Warren will take a leading role right now in moving the party left.

Hillary is gone forever. Obama will hang around, but his primary constituency will be the African-American. I think the liberals are going to move on from Obama.
