Software, cloud computing and other new technologies, changing the traditional IT infrastructure, IT systems can be extended horizontally, in this way will undoubtedly meet more business types.

After the advent of these new technologies, I have been thinking about the question, is that the future of data center applications also need higher performance? I recently interviewed Eyal Waldman, the founder, president and CEO of Mellanox, to discuss the future trends in the data center market. I also got the final answer from this interview.

Mellanox founder, president and CEO Eyal Waldman

It is now a data age in which more and more devices are generating massive amounts of data that can occur daily, whether in the cloud, in high-performance computing, in machine learning, in storage or in artificial intelligence, and so on. More data are being generated.

Mr. Eyal Waldman said the data contained a lot of value, just like the previous oil. Data is followed by a growing number of applications, these applications are constantly generating data, but also in the analysis of data, they have to be in the data center to complete all its operations.

Eyal Waldman believes that in order to dig out the data in the vast amount of data value, you need high-speed network support, so as to ensure faster data transfer, faster data processing, and to ensure data transmission more secure.

As an advocate of interconnection technology standards, Mellanox is committed to the development and production of InfiniBand-based products and solutions to provide customers with the most cost-effective and highest performance interconnection network solutions. In 2016, Mellanox released the world's first 200Gb / s data center network interconnection solution. In 2017 Mellanox will introduce other 200Gb / s products, to help customers from the switch, network card to cable and other end-to-end solutions.

According to Mr. Eyal Waldman, Mellanox not only has its infiniband products, but also has its own Ethernet cards, switches and so on. And through the acquisition of EZchip, a good integration into the overall product line, put it into a complete solution.

Today, the world's top 6 banks, the world's top five banks have been using our network products. In the top five pharmaceutical companies which have three in the use of Mellanox products, the top 10 oil companies have 9 in the network with Mellanox products, there are large Web 2.0 companies, etc., which we also see a lot from China, Such as Baidu, another example Jingdong.

When it comes to Mellanox's strengths, Eyal Waldman emphasizes that Mellanox's return on investment may not have previously been Mellanox's network, your investment can only return to 30%, today's Mellanox network, you can return a substantial investment To raise a few hundred percent, reaching a higher level. So this is the enterprise is a very core Mellanox point.

In 2017, Mellanox in China will further increase investment. Mellanox will have more people, the ability to cover large Web 2.0 companies, second-tier Web 2.0 companies and the depth of these new learning areas, in short, increase investment in China is a strategic investment Mellanox direction.
