It's a new era and a new economy. Tech and energy are the industries that can build personal wealth. Service jobs are abundant but not wealth producing jobs. Government jobs were abundant but most are just a welfare substitute. From what I can gather the plan is to downsize government in a major way ... even less jobs. Unless someone comes up with a new industry (like IT did), I don't see the benefit to GNP without upgrading knowledge and skills. Maybe if we become a big energy exporter that will help. Waiting to see if the next admin can accomplish to the extent claimed during campaign.
