The US emits more than twice the carbon per capita as China.
However, looking at it another way, China as a whole is emitting twice as much carbon as the USA

Now China has a bit more than twice the industrial growth rate of the USA, (7% vs 3%) so the disparity might increase in the future unless China is strict about alternative energy sources for commercial purposes.

The difference per capita between the countries might be due to the larger amount of urbanization in China, making use of energy more efficient(?)
